Enhanced Merchant 

Upgrades the merchant that visits your base with a 60-second arrival interval. The merchant now sells semi-finite resources including Silver, Gold, and Tumbaga Ingots, as well as assorted gems such as Sapphires, Rubies, and more.

Notice: This mod is currently known to conflict with several other mods. Players are advised to check for compatibility issues independently before installing.

Overview

This mod enhances the base merchant (requires a permit purchased in Tortuga), reducing the wait time to one minute and updating the available inventory. The default listings for Fiber, Wood, Stone, and Bark have been replaced with Silver, Gold, and Tumbaga Ingots, plus assorted gems. Sugarcane has also been added to the Food Merchant’s stock.

Merchant Inventory Progression

Available immediately:

• Tumbaga: 1x Tumbaga Ingot (Resource Merchant)

Unlocks after defeating the first boss:

• Gold: 5x Gold Ingot (Resource Merchant)

• Silver: 10x Silver Ingot (Resource Merchant)

• Sugarcane: 10x Sugarcane (Food Merchant)

Unlocks after defeating the second boss:

• Assorted Gems: One of each gem type (Sapphire, Ruby, etc.)

Known Tumbaga Display Issue

Tumbaga currently displays as a standard item rather than a crate, as the game does not have a dedicated Tumbaga crate icon. The shop can only generate crate-style items, so if you see the green “Tumbaga” listing, click it a second time to receive the actual Tumbaga Ingot (shown in blue).

Replaced Items and Bonus Packages

The original items that were removed from the standard listing remain obtainable through bundled packages:

• Buying Divi Logs grants 50 Hardwood, 50 Wood, and 25 Bark

• Buying 50 Sulfur grants 50 Stone as a bonus

• Buying 30 Flax Fiber grants 50 Fiber as a bonus

• Buying 30 Corn grants 5 Corn Seeds as a bonus

The individual purchase options for these items have been removed. Due to limited replacement slots, this bundling approach was the most practical solution available. This mod modifies existing merchant entries rather than adding new ones, which is a deliberate design choice to prevent save file corruption if the mod is ever uninstalled. This behavior is intentional and will not be changed.

Pricing and Design Philosophy

Prices for special goods are intentionally high because these are finite and progression-critical materials. This mod is not designed as a cheat but as a legitimate grind alternative, letting players farm piastres by sinking ships rather than rerolling the world in search of ruins and treasure. Feedback on quantities and pricing is welcome, but the core design goal remains a fair grind replacement rather than an exploit.

Sugarcane was added by community request, as it cannot currently be purchased in Tortuga despite the game files suggesting otherwise. The price matches the original game value of 3 piastres per unit, stacked to 10 per crate. It will be removed from this mod once Tortuga makes it natively available.

A cheat variant priced at 1 piastre per item is also available by popular demand. Newer materials such as Tar and Aborum Ingots are planned for future addition once a post-third-boss requirement parameter becomes available in the game. Adding them now risks save file corruption, and that is not something this mod will risk. That feature will remain on hold until the next update introduces the necessary merchant trigger for post-boss-three content.

This mod is safe to remove at any time without affecting your save files.

Installation

• Quick Merchant variant: Changes the merchant timer to 60 seconds only, no inventory changes.

• Enhanced Merchant variant: Applies both the new inventory listings and the 60-second timer.

  Install only one variant at a time.

Single Player and Dedicated Server:
