Space Haven
In Space Haven, humanity has left a dying Earth behind, and a small civilian crew must cross a dangerous galaxy in search of somewhere safe to begin again. Developed and published by Bugbyte Ltd., this spaceship colony simulation combines tile-based ship building, crew management, resource gathering, space exploration, survival strategy, tactical combat, and emergent storytelling. Players design functional spacecraft one section at a time, placing hull pieces, walls, doors, power systems, life-support equipment, bedrooms, medical facilities, storage areas, and recreational spaces wherever they fit best. A beautiful vessel is useful, but a practical layout matters even more when oxygen is running low, smoke is spreading through the corridors, or exhausted crew members desperately need sleep. Beyond the ship, players can mine asteroids, trade with factions, salvage derelict vessels, investigate abandoned stations, rescue survivors, and battle pirates or alien creatures. Every journey in Space Haven creates new problems to solve, turning ordinary maintenance tasks into memorable science-fiction stories.
Design A Fully Functional Spaceship
Building is one of the game’s greatest strengths. Players have extensive freedom to create a compact exploration vessel, a sprawling industrial ship, or an unusual design that ignores traditional science-fiction shapes. Every facility serves a purpose, so thoughtful planning can improve efficiency, safety, and comfort.
Ship design also involves simulated oxygen, carbon dioxide, hazardous gases, temperature, and power distribution. Poorly placed machinery may disturb sleeping quarters, while a damaged life-support room can quickly threaten the entire crew. Expanding without preparation is risky, but watching a rough collection of corridors grow into a dependable home is deeply satisfying.

Manage A Crew With Real Personalities
The people aboard are not interchangeable workers. Each crew member has skills, traits, health conditions, moods, needs, occupations, and relationships that affect daily life. Some characters remain calm during a firefight, while others struggle with fear, hunger, discomfort, or stress.
Keeping everyone productive requires more than assigning jobs. Food, rest, safety, friendship, hygiene, and entertainment all influence morale. When conditions become unbearable, mental breaks can create fresh disasters at the worst possible moment. These systems give the colony personality and ensure that success feels connected to the people living inside it.
Explore Wrecks And Face The Unknown
Away missions send armed teams into abandoned ships and stations in search of resources, data logs, useful equipment, and survivors hidden in cryopods. Dark corridors can contain valuable salvage, but they may also hide aliens capable of capturing crew members and dragging them into their lairs.
Ship-to-ship battles are equally dangerous. Turret fire can damage engines, destroy vital systems, ignite fires, and open hull breaches. Winning requires good targeting and a crew capable of repairing the vessel while the fight continues.
Choose What Kind Of Survivors You Become
Space Haven allows players to shape their own reputation. A crew can help civilians, hunt pirates, trade peacefully, or survive through theft and aggression. The sandbox structure makes moral choices part of the larger story rather than a simple selection between two dialogue options.
After entering Early Access on May 21, 2020, Space Haven reached its full 1.0 release on May 13, 2026. For players who enjoy colony simulators, spaceship construction, detailed management systems, and unpredictable science-fiction adventures, it offers a rewarding voyage where even a badly placed toilet can become part of the drama.
