Core Boss Buff
This mod enhances the difficulty and scaling of core boss encounters, aiming to create more dynamic, prolonged, and engaging battles.
The Coven and the Tormentor are conceptually strong boss designs; however, their relatively low health pools combined with high player damage scaling often result in encounters that end too quickly. This mod addresses that imbalance by increasing durability and introducing additional mechanical considerations.
Coven Adjustments
Health increased from 300 to 666.
Turns per round increased from 2 to 3.
If uninterrupted, the Coven will now cast three Apocalypse spells per cycle instead of all four. As a result, the use of stuns or turn disruption should be considered carefully, as it may alter spell sequencing and overall encounter flow.
Candle Changes
Health increased from 50 to 666.
Candles can now be extinguished using ice-element attacks.
Tormentor Adjustments
Health increased from 120 to 380.
Previously, eliminating one or two candles significantly weakened the Tormentor, often trivializing the encounter. With the updated values, the fight now presents two distinct strategic approaches:
A direct damage check: Defeat the Tormentor before it overwhelms the player.
A control-based approach: Apply debuffs and manage the boss’s capabilities to reduce its effectiveness over time.
These changes are intended to transform the encounter into a more meaningful and challenging experience while preserving multiple viable strategies.
