Class Overview

The Pyromaniac combines elements of a mage and a hunter, specializing in heavy long-range damage with only limited mobility options. Most of the class abilities are highly destructive, which means they can easily hurt allies as well as enemies if used carelessly.

Highlights

  • Fire Fire Fire: Many abilities apply Burn or Tar, allowing damage stacks to build up quickly.

  • Landmines: The class can place mines around the battlefield and use bombs to knock enemies into them.

  • It’s Just A Wound: Some abilities help recover wounds or reduce the danger of your own attacks.

  • Wildfire: Fire and poison effects work together for even greater damage.

Abilities

Active Abilities

  • Big One: Throw a large bomb that deals damage and knocks targets back.

  • Molotov Cocktail: Toss a volatile mixture that ignites tiles and applies 4 Burn in an X-shaped area.

  • Concussion Bomb: Throw a weaker bomb that mainly causes knockback.

  • Oil Bomb: Hurl a mixture that applies Tarred 2 to targets it hits.

  • Sticky Poison: Throw a concoction that inflicts Tarred 2 and Poison 1.

  • Bomberman: Place a bomb on the chosen tile.

  • Grenadier: Place a grenade on the selected tile.

  • Firestreak: Refresh your movement and set yourself on fire. While burning, your movement can be split up.

  • Watch Your Step: Surround a target with mines that explode and slow enemies.

  • Toxic Mines: Place mines in a target area that inflict 2 Poison when triggered.

  • Landmines: Deploy mines in a target area that explode for 3 damage when activated.

  • Detonate: Trigger all bombs and grenades currently on the battlefield. Bonus ability.

  • Engulf: Allies standing in fire tiles are healed, while enemies on those tiles take damage.

  • Pretty Fire: Gain 2 Shield for every burning tile.

  • Sticky Bomb: Attach sticky bombs to all affected targets. These explode for 2 damage on their turn.

  • Minedash: Drop a mine that explodes for 5 damage, then dash backward.

  • Firestride: Rush to the target tile, leaving a trail of fire behind and setting yourself on fire.

  • Mathilda: Throw a massive forbidden bomb with unpredictable results.

  • Bombastic: Apply sticky bombs to all visible enemies. These explode for 4 damage on their turn.

  • Bombfly: Summon a friendly Bombfly.

  • Bombjump: Explode around yourself, damaging nearby targets, then teleport to a random nearby tile.

  • Tarfight: Give all allies the ability to throw tar at enemies.

  • Tarball: Throw a sticky ball of tar that applies Tarred 2 to the target. Bonus ability.

  • Clusterbomb: Throw a bomb that breaks into smaller blasts, each dealing 2 damage to enemies.

  • Airstrike: Call down a delayed explosion.

  • Drop Bomb: Move away and leave a bomb behind.

  • Mine Mortar: Fire a mortar shot that leaves a mine where it lands.

  • Poop Mortar: Throw waste that poisons adjacent units.

  • Perimeter: On the next turn, surround yourself with mines.

Passive Abilities

  • Napalm: Your basic attack applies Burn, but your explosions have a smaller area. You also attack randomly whenever an enemy is killed.

  • Wildfire: Fire and poison interact together. Poisoned enemies can be set ablaze, and burning enemies can be poisoned, causing them to explode for 3 damage.

  • Pretty Explosions: Increases knockback, and all of your attacks gain knockback effects.

  • Explosive Personality: When you die, you drop 2 grenades. Your body is also more durable.

  • Minefield: Each battle begins with 1 to 3 mines already placed somewhere on the field.

  • Prosthetics: In each fight, after killing 6 monsters, you heal one random injury.

  • Bombastic: Start with a rat bomb item and gain the bonus ability Detonate.

  • Hothead: When below 3 health, you become immune to fire and explosion damage.

  • Firedancer: While on fire, you are immune to crowd control and can split your movement.

  • Mortar Team: Grants a long-range attack, but you cannot move while using it.

  • Shrapnel: Your explosions deal 1 less damage, but they apply 1 Bleed.

How To Unlock

Follow these steps to unlock the class:

  1. Install the Paladin Unlocker Mod.

  2. Talk to Butch. The standard dialogue should unlock the class.

  3. You do not need to begin a new save.

  4. Optionally, remove the Unlocker Mod afterward.

Note: Mewgenics does not officially support custom class mods. If you save during a run while using a modded class, a future update could cause crashes. In some cases, restoring the class may fix the issue.
