Auto-Battler Mode
This mod introduces an Auto-Battler mode to Mewgenics by assigning all combat decisions to the game’s internal AI system. Player-controlled cats will automatically manage movement, targeting, and ability usage throughout encounters. The mod was developed to provide a hands-off gameplay experience.
Due to the inherent limitations of the default player AI, this mode effectively functions as a challenge variant. Performance may vary significantly—from relatively efficient and well-coordinated battles when using simpler abilities and synergies, to highly unpredictable and ineffective outcomes. The AI demonstrates minimal awareness of enemy mechanics, does not prioritize ability sequencing, and largely ignores environmental hazards.
User feedback and gameplay experiences are welcomed, particularly regarding how AI-controlled parties perform under different conditions.
Functionality
The mod operates by adding the “Uncontrollable 1” passive effect to the base player_cat.gon definition. This is the same mechanic utilized by the “Brain Chip” item and the “Severe Deja Vu” feature. No additional attributes or modifiers are applied beyond this passive effect.
Mid-run compatibility: The mod applies immediately to existing save files.
Non-destructive: Disabling the mod restores manual control without permanently affecting saved data.
Global application: The effect applies to all cats currently in the player’s party.
Installation
Requires the Mewtator mod manager.
Extract the downloaded files and place them in the Mewtator mods directory.
Enable the mod via the manager and launch the game.
